Rex Kibler, Sr.

Danville -  Rex D. Kibler, Sr, 87, of Danville, IL passed away at 5:55 AM on June 11, 2022 at Accolade Health Care in Danville, IL.

Rex was born on December 2, 1934 the son of Perry and Evelyn (Newlin) Kibler in Wade Township in Jasper County, IL. He married Mary E. York on August 22, 1953 in Hidalgo, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kibler of Danville, IL, children, Rex (Marcia) Kibler, Jr. of Kokomo, IN, Mike (Georgina) Kibler of Elkhart, IN, Donald Kibler of Danville, IL, Steve (Veronica) Kibler of Evansville, IN, Lisa (Greg) Setser of Evansville, IN and Alison (Randy) Hankins of St Petersburg, FL, two brothers, Richard (Peggy) Kibler of Hillsboro, IL and Larry (Bea) Kibler of Olney, IL as well as his grandchildren, Jared Kibler, Jacob Kibler, Nathan Kibler, Jennifer Gale Kibler, Mary Kibler, Altara Hardy, Jessica Kibler, Ethan Alblinger, Kim Setser, Elise Setser, Tyler Hankins and Leo Perez and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents.

Rex was a member of the Pleasant View Congregational Christian Church and retired after many years of service at the GM Tilton Foundry. He enjoyed spending his free time gardening, cleaning his car, working on cars for others and was an avid NASCAR fan rooting for Bill Elliott.

A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, IL, 3901 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61832. His son, Rex Kibler, Jr. and other family members will officiate services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 10:45 AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
