Ralph "Dean" Bradford

Ralph “Dean” Bradford, 90, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his home in Bismarck, IL. He was born on May 25, 1931 the son of Pauline (Flaherty) and Ralph Bradford in Danville, IL.

Dean leaves behind three children, Terri (Floyd) Reed, Jeanine (Jack) Keller, and Paula (Rick Rescigno) Bradford; eight grandchildren, Daniel Reed, Amber Cundiff, Pattie Gregory, Becky Barragree, RT Thompson, AJ Wells, Zachary Bradford, and Derrick Jacko; as well as several great grandchildren.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents; his wife who passed in 2018, Rosemarie (Dorsey) Bradford; two children, Cathy Gaizat and Becky Bradford; and sister, Delores Owens.

Dad, as we sit here wondering what to write in your obituary, all our individual memories come to mind, which are just that... ours. Dean proudly served our country in the Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard. He was an Anchor Lodge #980 32nd degree Valley of Danville member and a member at the Gao Grotto. Dean worked at General Electric for 30+ years. He was a #1 Cub fan, loved bowling, music was his go to, and "The Young and Restless" was a no miss! Dad never missed an opportunity to take a photo. He had a love for animals and was never without one. But most important of all, was his love for his wife Rosie, his 5 daughters, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild and his love for Dusty, "Best Dog Ever.” Dad, you were so laid back and easy going. Your memories will be with us forever.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Raymie Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Deans name to any local animal shelter of your choosing.
