Michael Miethe Obituary

Michael W. Miethe, 65, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center. He was born on November 19, 1954 the son of Audrey Gail (Shannon) and Frank Albert Miethe. They precede him in death.

Michael leaves behind a daughter, Emily Miethe; two sons, Joshua Miethe and Darby Miethe; four grandchildren, Makenzi Miethe, Karsin Miethe, River Miethe, and Tenley Makemson; one brother, Stephen (Vicki) Miethe; stepfather, Jack Kimball; and several nieces and nephews that loved him as a father. 

Michael started his sheet metal career at Henry Birline Co. then BEC Mechanical. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 230 and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed playing golf and hanging out with friends at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Danville. He also loved going to his grandchildren’s events. He was funny and liked making jokes whenever given the chance. He loved making people laugh. Michael was loved by many and will be missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Bill Silvy. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to The ALS Association at https://www.als.org/
