Michael Day Obituary

     Michael Day, 71, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:34pm, Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.  He was born on June 17, 1950, in Danville the son of William and Anna {Palmer} Day, both deceased.  He was married to Frances Emmons on May 11, 1977.  She survives.
     Michael is also survived by his children, Renee Howie, Carl Waterstradt, & Krista (Al) Lindsey; his three grandchildren; his 7 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and his siblings, Carolyn Waterstradt & William A. Day.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Josh Cadman; and his brother-in-law, Gary Waterstradt.
     Michael was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force and Marine Reserves, as well as a member of the Indiana Air National Guard.  He had attended from SIU and was a member of the Tap A Kegg Club.  He enjoyed going fishing, mowing grass, biking, and golfing.  He loved his family and will be dearly missed by them.
      A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Father Sauppé officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour on Wednesday prior to his services at the funeral home.  He will be accorded cremation rites after services.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to Cancer Research.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
