Merrille Brasker, 75, of Williamsport, Indiana passed away at home on July 17, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born a son of Donald “Monk” and Garnet (VanPelt) Brasker on April 9, 1946 in Warren County, Indiana. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his wife Jami, brothers Garland and Ronnie Brasker and sisters Alice Payne and Debbie Crawford.
Merrille’s survivors include his children Christie (John) Murphy of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Curt (Jamie) Brasker of Covington, Indiana, and their mother Brenda Metzger nee Christenberry. Also surviving are his granddaughters Allison and Kelsey Murphy and twins Kaylee and Emma Brasker and his siblings Marg Summers, Donna (Jerry) Hale, and Sue Allison, as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Merrille enjoyed talking and never knew a stranger. He would go to the coffee shop where he was always known for a joke or one hell of a story. He had a passion for horses; he trained standard bred horses and raced them. He even boarded retired horses on his own farm.
A memorial service for Merrille will take place on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 4:00 pm EST at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, located at 420 3rd Street Covington, Indiana 47932. His family will greet guests prior from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm EST prior to the memorial service on Saturday.
