Mary Ruth Henk

Danville – Mary “Ruth” Henk, 89, of Danville, Illinois was called to Glory on Tuesday July 27, 2021.

Ruth was born February 22, 1932 the daughter of Ray and Lillie (Kyger) Adams in Newport, IN. She married Donald Henk on June 14, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2011.

Survivors include her son, Dale (Jana) Henk, of Danville; her granddaughter, Christina (Chuck) Walls, of Danville; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Walls, Austin Walls, and Madison Carlton; her sister Louise Lewsader; and 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald, one sister, Lois Lynch, and an infant sister.

Ruth was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  Ruth graduated from Perrysville High School in 1949 and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company and later the V.A. Medical Center as a telephone operator. She enjoyed reading, watching T.V. and most of all spending time with her family.

A Celebration of Life will be at held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church 824 East Main Street Danville, Illinois 61832. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
