Linda Wheeler

     Linda C. Wheeler, 82, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:45am, October 10, 2021, at Villas of Hollybrook, Danville.  She was born on September 2, 1939, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Thomas J. and Gladys M. {Ireland} Powell, both deceased.  She was united in marriage to Francis Wheeler on August 26, 1962, until his passing on August 30, 2009.
     Linda leaves behind her sister, Sonna (Ron) Gross; her nieces, Kim (Jeff) Frey & Donna (Denny) Tomlinson; and many great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Powell; and her sisters, Helen Mallinson & Delores Pilkington.
     Linda had worked for the Jacket Factory in her early years.  She attended the Southside Church of the Nazarene.  She was known to everyone as always being “on the go” and was always there to help anyone in need.  Linda loved working out in her yard and taking care of her flowers.  She cherished her dog, Maxi, and enjoyed driving her Jeep.  She will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
     A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to her service at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown.  Memorial donations may be given in her name to donor’s choice of charity.  Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
