Leandro C. Maniquis

Danville – Leandro C. Maniquis, 100, of Danville, IL passed away at 5:52 PM on November 22, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL.

Leandro was born on October 13, 1921 the son of Quirino and Francisca (Cruz) Maniquis in San Jose, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines. He married Melchora Jimenez on May 5, 1954 in Davao City in the Philippines and she preceded him in death on April 30, 1989.

Survivors include his children, Marilyn Sia of Danville, IL, Leonardo (Jossie) Maniquis of Danville, IL, Marilou (Rob) Watson of Manitoba, Canada and Leticia (Fred) Angeles of Milpitas, CA, his step-child, Glicerio Tan, his grandchildren, Iris (Ben) Martin, Michael Maniquis, Eric (Chelsea) Sia, Ingrid (Oleg) Shypitsyn, Justin Maniquis, Jericho Maniquis, Andy (Geralyn) Angeles, Joanna (Mark) Garcia and Carlo (Julia) Angeles, his great grandchildren, Leandro Marcum, Maliah Sia, Marcus Garcia, Xander Garcia, Nathan Garcia, Ava Angeles, and Olivia Angeles as well as his sister Consuelo Maniquis.

Leandro is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Melchora, step-sons Edito Tan and Laureano Tan, Jr., and siblings, Leonor Maniquis, Corazon Nines, Benjamin Manqiuis, Amor Laygo, and Angelita Cuizon.

Leandro served in the United States Army during World War II.  He was retired from computer programing and was also a land surveyor. He enjoyed spending his free time working crossword puzzles, traveling, reading and spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Father Bowan Schmitt will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the funeral home.
