Lavona (Myers) Lane

Lavona Lane, 92, a lifetime resident of Muncie, passed away on June 8, 2022 at the Waters of Covington in Indiana. Born on January 15, 1930 in Banner, Illinois, she was the last surviving child of Hiram and Verna Myers. She married Trave Lane in 1946, who then preceded her in death in 1967. She raised six children: Ed (Diane), Steve (Dona), Mike (Vicki), Craig (Shelley), Chad (Joanne), and Dena (Tony) Lane. All survive. Lavona leaves behind a wonderful legacy of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family that will miss her tremendously.

Lavona lived in the same house in Muncie for nearly 70 years. She enjoyed canning and making pies. She made beautiful quilts and loved mushroom season when she could get out and hunt for morels.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm CST at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Oakwood Chapel at 105 East S. Main Street in Oakwood, Illinois 61858. A funeral service celebrating her long and wonderful life will take place the following day on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 11:00 am, also at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Garver will officiate.
