Laura Fink Obituary

Laura L. Fink, 91, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare in Danville. She was born on November 23, 1929 the daughter of William and Bertha (Rothenbeuhler) Walder.

She was a graduate of Brodhead High School in Wisconsin and Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Freeport, Illinois. She married Eugene Fink on November 12, 1951 and they resided in Freeport until 2009 when they moved to the Danville area where their daughter lived. Eugene passed away in 2014. Laura worked at Freeport Memorial Hospital for 25 years, and before her retirement she worked at Parkview Home in Freeport. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Tim Barney) Loverude; grandchildren, Mandi (Bob) Ruck of Lockport and Woody Loverude of New York; grandchildren, Allyson and Julia Ruck; sister-in-law, Nancy Buxton of Pennsylvania.

She preceded in death by her husband; brother, Robert and his wife Verlene; and brother-in-law, Jerry Buxton.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 2514 Rt. 26 South, Freeport, IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
