Larry Delva Obituary

     Larry Delva, 76, of Westville, passed away at 11:53am, Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home.  He was born on July 17, 1945, in Westville, IL, the son of William and Lillie {Dodson} Delva, both deceased.  He was united in marriage to Valerie Strader on August 5, 1977.  She survives.
     He is also survived by his son, Jason (Leslie) Delva; his grandchildren, Brianna & Logan; and his brother, Virgil O’Banion; and his brother-in-law, Bill Spencer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, and one sister.
     Larry was a proud Veteran of the US Army and served during Vietnam.  He worked at General Motors until his retirement as a core setter.  He belonged to the Kickapoo Woodcarvers and loved doing woodwork and carving as well as burning wood.  Larry also enjoyed going fishing.  He loved his family and will be missed by many.
     A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, October 15, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883.  Visitation will be Noon to 2:00pm on Friday prior to his service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, Danville.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to Parkinson’s Association or Cancer research of donor’s choice.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
