Kenneth Westfahl Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” William Westfahl, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning, October 12th. He was surrounded by his loving family, at his home in Alvin IL. Kenneth was born on March 14, 1938 to Elmer and Luwanda Westfahl.

Kenneth is preceded by his parents along with his sister, June Eller.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Westfahl; brother-in-law, Fred L. Thornsbrough; three children, Kent W. (Debra) Westfahl of Alvin IL, Michael A. (Deana) Westfahl of Danville IL, and Jill M. (Russell) Davis of Oakwood IL; three grandchildren, Tara M. Westfahl, Dylan M. Warner, and Hannah E. Westfahl; six great grandchildren, Princeton Westfahl George, Tripp Warner, Lincoln Knoll, Mya Warner, Beckett Russel, and Knox Warner; special niece, Jamie Eller; nephews, Danny and Randy Eller; great niece, Janet Key; and great nephews, Troy Hafner and Doug Hafner.

Kenneth grew up in the Danville area and attended Danville high school, graduating in 1957. He married Donna (Jeannie) Thornsbrough on December 18, 1960. He later worked for Hyster, retiring after 30 years of service. Kenneth loved to spend time in his garden and was very active outside, he especially enjoyed mushrooming and fishing with his kids and grandkids. He was an avid roller-skater and loved to dance. He was a member of AA for 44 years and made many dear friends. He and his wife attended Bismarck First Church of Christ family. Kenneth will be missed by all who knew him.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements. Per Kenneth’s wishes he will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
