Kathy Jean Hilliger

Kathy Jean Hilliger, 67, of Rossville passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2022. She was born in Danville on March 5, 1955, the daughter of Gene and Betty Anderson. She married David James Hilliger on January 5, 1974; he survives.
Kathy is also survived by her sister Sue Caldwell and Sue's children Amy and Chris, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Henry and Nancy Hilliger Coan and their sons Matthew and Jonathan Coan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Robert Caldwell of Monticello.
Kathy graduated from Danville High School. She worked as the lead secretary at the Sheriff's office before transitioning to the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center where she worked for over 20 years.
She was a member of the Illinois Corvette Club and a lover of dogs and cats. She adored her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Kathy's family would like to extend a special thanks to the dedicated nurses and medical staff who assisted and cared for her during her extended illness.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. A graveside service will take place at 10am on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
Memorial donations may be made in Kathy's name to the Danville Humane Society.
