Judith Cureton Obituary

Judith A. Cureton, 72, of Danville, passed away at 7:10pm EST, Thursday, September 10, 2020, at The Waters of Covington.  She was born on July 16, 1948, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Norma {Wolfe} Jones.  She was married to Carey “Mike” Cureton.

Judith is survived by:  her daughters, Susan Staley of Danville, Kim Guymon of Bozeman, MT, & Amanda Darch of Paris; her brother, Warren (Jan) Jones of Tilton; her sisters, Dixie (Larry) Holman of Danville and Karen Johnson of Danville; her grandchildren, Cameron Staley, Toby Peevler, B.J. Peevler, Seth Peevler, Chloey Darch, Allyson Darch, Derek Myrtle, & Justin Harding; and her 8 great grandchildren with one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Jenny Peevler, and her sister, Connie Urbanski.

Judy admired and strived to be like her own mother, providing a welcoming home to any friendly face. She frequently introduced herself as “grandma” to new people in hopes that they would know that they could always come to her for anything. She enjoyed traveling and adventure even if it was the next town over to view a new landscape. However, her greatest love in life was her family. She took in and raised her 4 grandsons after they lost their mother and her 2 granddaughters when they needed a safe place to go.

Per her wishes, Judith was cremated and there are no services at this time.  Her family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846.  Please join her family in sharing memories through her Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
