Jerry Wargo

     Jerry Wargo, 76, of Louisiana, formerly of Westville, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, at his home.  He was born on December 28, 1946, in Danville, IL, the son of Mike and Esta C. {McCortney} Wargo, both deceased. 
     Jerry is survived by his siblings, Michael Wargo, James Wargo, and Darlene Wargo; his niece, Lacy Jo Wargo (JR); and his nephew, Blake (Tina) Wargo.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry Wargo and Randy Wargo.
     Jerry was a proud Veteran of the US Marine Corp.  He worked at General Motors for many years until his retirement.  He served as past Commander of the American Legion Dorblaser Post #203.  He had relocated to Louisiana and lived on a lake.  He enjoyed his retirement by fishing as much as he liked as well as golfing, sometimes 3 times a day.  He also loved his dog, Misty.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, IL, with Father Sauppé officiating.  A visitation will be held from 10:00am to Noon on Friday prior to Mass at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois, 414 S State St, Westville, IL 61883.  He will be laid to rest in Oakridge Cemetery, Catlin.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to donor’s choice of charity.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
