Jennifer Lynn Kinney

The heavens gained another angel into their care, Jennifer Lynn Kinney, 42, of Yucaipa, CA., on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

She was born June 7, 1981, in Denver, CO., the daughter of John and Christy (Shutes) Kinney.

Surviving along with her parents are her brothers: John (Nadia) Kinney of Denver, CO., and Matthew Kinney of Yucaipa, CA; a sister: Lauri (Steve) Bechtold of Spirit Lake, ID; maternal grandmother: Dororthy Shutes of Danville, IL; a nephew: Brayden Hanson; nieces: Cadence Kinney, Kamryn Bechtold and Hanalyn Bechtold; many aunts, uncles and cousins that she loved dearly; and lifetime friend: Jonathon Arnold of Yucaipa, CA.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Charles Raymond Shutes; and paternal grandparents:  John “Jack” (Mary) Kinney.

Jennifer worked for 23 years as a retailer at Costco in Fontana, CA. She was a lover of all animals but held a soft spot in her heart for horses, cats, dogs and “fluffy cows.” Her love of adventure can be traced back to childhood where she spent 3 years living in England. Her love of the outdoors grew as she did and often took hikes in the wilderness and spent many carefree years riding her horses all over Yucaipa. She loved photography and enjoyed capturing memories of her adventures to share with those she loved. Above all, Jennifer loved spending time with her family, all of whom will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1PM Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., 61834 with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville, IL. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the funeral home.  

A Celebration of Life for Jennifer will be arranged in Yucaipa, CA. at a later date.
