Jeffrey Lappin

     Jeffrey Lappin, 62, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of Covington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022.  He was born on January 27, 1960, in Danville, IL, the son of Donald and Judy {Adair} Lappin of Covington, both deceased.
     Jeffrey is survived by his partner, Susan Wacasey of Marietta, GA; his daughter, Harmony (Rich) Calhoun; his grandchildren, Isaac, Thomas, & Jayden; his stepson, Curtis (Danielle) Wacasey; his step grandchildren, Trey, Jackson, & Carter; his siblings, Jennifer (Larry) Kirby & Shelly (Kevin) Huston; his nephew, Travis (Shelby) Huston and their children, Maddox & Kairi.
     Jeff, also known locally as ‘Lappy’, graduated from Covington High in 1978.  He earned degrees from DACC and Kennesaw State University.  He worked for 19 years at Flexel and most recently as a VP in corporate finance at Bank of America.  He served as the President of the Fountain County Trust Credit Union.  He was a long-time member of the local gun club where he also served as president.  Fascinated with any kind of electronic gadget, Jeff was also a music enthusiast who enjoyed live music of all kinds.  Jeff loved being with family and friends. He particularly enjoyed visiting wineries and wine-tasting.  He was a big fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and Chicago Cubs.  Jeff loved with all his heart until his heart gave out.  He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
     A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at 2:00pm (Est), Friday, June 17, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Rev. Dave Anderson officiating.  Visitation will be 12:00pm to 2:00pm (Est) on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to the donor's choice of charity.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
