Janet Mockbee

Janet Kay Mockbee, 67, passed away on April 30, 2021 at her home in Danville. She was born on October 10, 1953 the daughter of Katherine and James Richards in Danville, IL.

Janet leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Ronald Dean Mockbee; two children, Amy (Aaron Snider) Mackiewicz and Misty (Toby Brewer) Hueston; grandchildren, Jason, Steven, Skylar, Drake, Avery, Daulton, Hanah, Molly, and Joby; one great grandson, Cas; one brother, Jeff Richards; sister-in-law's, Gloria Crippin and Peggy Mockbee; two dogs, Odie and Roxie; and two very special friends, Vickie and Greg Black.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jason Powell; and brother, Kevin Richards.

Janet loved riding her motorcycle with her husband Ron. They went on many motorcycle, canoeing and white water rafting trips. She loved trying new things and being adventurous. She also loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren who were the light of her life. She loved game night with them and always made them laugh. There was never a dull moment when you were with her. In her spare time, she liked to read and crochet. She was a friend to anyone she met and if you knew her you loved her. She will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Miles Clark. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
