Howard Varner, 89, of Danville passed away March 27, 2020 peacefully at his home.
He was born November 2, 1930 to William and Ethel (Groves) Varner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rosemary.
Howard is survived by sons, Lindsay (Marie) Varner, Kevin (Dawn) Varner; 9 brothers; 4 sisters; grandchildren, Brandon (Joselyn) Curry-Varner, Bryson Varner, Kaylea Varner, Autumn (Gerald) Haley, Carrie (George) Kiser, Terri Fletcher, Luke Varner, Nathaniel Varner; 24 grandchildren.
He worked for the Esco Corporation and retired from Teamsters as a truck driver. He enjoyed working his lawn care business for 33 years. He served as a Marine Sargent in the Korean war and received many medals.
Services are private family only on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. He will be laid to rest at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, IN. Donations in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Association.
