George Weisinger Obituary

George C. Weisiger, 68, of Danville, formerly of St. Joseph, died in his home on April 30, 2019. He was born on July 21, 1950 in Saint Louis, MO to Ben W. Weisiger and Nancy (Brosius) Weisiger.

George was a skilled carpenter. He was employed for many years by the Local 44 Union and enjoyed restoring old homes and making furniture. He restored several 19th century homes in Danville as part of the Renaissance group. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. In recent years, George volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was an active member of the Danville Art League.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeanette Routson, her husband, Richard and their five children; Elijah, Isabella, Jeremiah, Samuel and Micah, all of Ypsilanti, MI. He is also survived by his sister, Christine Weisiger of Cape Cod, MA.

A memorial service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church of Danville at a later date. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Habitat for Humanity in his memory.
