Everett C. Tooker Jr.

     Everett C. Tooker, Jr., 80, of Westville, passed away at 5:53am, Saturday, November 23, 2019, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville.  He was born on March 30, 1939, in Danville, the son of Everett C. Tooker Sr. and Louise {Johnson} Tooker, both deceased.  He was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Bennington on April 16, 1966 in Danville, IL.  She will miss him dearly.

     He will also be missed by:  his sons, (2)Gary Duane (Debra) Tooker of Mahomet and (5)Everett (Michele) Tooker of Danville; his daughters, (3)Millicent (Dean) Murphy of Carmel, IN, and (4)Carmelita (Mark) Corley of Danville; his eight grandchildren; and his four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carol Trimmel; and his daughter, (1)Sheryl Tooker-Nielsen.

     Everett started to play music professionally at age 15.  He was a proud Veteran of the US Army.  He worked for 25 years at General Motors Tilton Foundry and was a member of the UAW Local #579.  He loved to dance and never met a stranger.  He was a doting grandpa and never referred to the grandchildren by name and lovingly called them A through H and his great grandchildren 1-z through 4-z.  He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

     A celebration of Everett’s life will be held 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883.  As per his wishes, he will be accorded cremation rites.  He will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville at a later time.  Memorial donations may be given in his name to American Cancer Society.  Please join his family in sharing memories through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
