Donald Beauvois Obituary

Donald E. Beauvois Sr., 91, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Hawthorne Inn. Don was born in Oakwood, IL on February 12, 1930, the son of Arthur and Irene Beauvois. On September 18, 1966, Donald married the love of his live Joann and the two of them spent 54 wonderful years together, she survives.

Also surviving are son, Don (Terry) Beauvois Jr.; granddaughter, Somer Beauvois; stepdaughter, Sue (John) Bracewell, step grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Carpenter, Josh Bracewell; step great-grandchildren, Noah Carpenter, Kenzie Carpenter, Madison Bracewell and several nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Irene; daughter, Brenda Johnson and sisters Barbara Wall and Evelyn Creighton.

Don graduated from Oakwood High School before entering the United States Marine Corp. He is a Veteran of the Korean War and is considered one of the ‘Chosin Few’ after fighting in the frigid temperatures and rugged terrain at the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.

 In 1990 Don retired after 30 years at Tee Pak where he was a supervisor. Don was also a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.

A graveside service for Donald will take place at 11am at Oakwood Cemetery on Monday, June 14, 2021. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
