Corinne Rumley-Moore Obituary

Danville – Corinne P. Rumley-Moore, 90, of Danville passed away at 3:10 AM on January 15, 2020 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Our mother, Corinne was born on July 15, 1929, the daughter of Ralph Jack and Ella Miller in Orafino, NE. She married Paul LaVerne Rumley on July 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1992. She later married Elwin Moore on October 21, 1994 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2017.

Survivors include her two daughters, Carla (Ota) Dossett of Danville, IL and Alana (Kim) Cook of Bennett, CO, two brothers, Ralph (Joan) Miller of WA and Rev. Rex (Beverly) Miller of WA, two sisters, Opal Hodges of Centerville, IA and Lucille Fleck of Louisville, KY, four grandchildren, Tyler (Keniki) Dossett, Krista (Christopher) Kerr, Ciara Benner and Sasha Benner.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, Jack Miller and one sister, Eula Danko.

Mom was a member of the Danville First Church of the Nazarene and obtained her Master Degree from Oakland University.  She was a Professor at Olivet Nazarene University and Kankakee Junior College. She enjoyed spending her free time drawing, painting, traveling.

Mom was determined, compassionate and loving. These qualities she applied to her family, friends, and her career.  She taught us about the grace of Jesus and how to share his mercy and love. Mission outreach was paramount to our parents.  She supported the Jesus Film, which included two missionary teams, in India.

Wednesday morning, Jesus said, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”  Matthew 25:21

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Dave Anderson will officiate Burial will be in Mt Olive Cemetery in rural St Joseph. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Danville First Church of the Nazarene Missions Fund.
