Claude "Frank" Land Obituary

     Claude “Frank” Land, 77, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:23pm, Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born the son of Merele Leon and Margaret Elizabeth {Galyen} Land in New Castle, Indiana on February 20, 1942.  He was united in marriage to Jacquelyn “Jackie” Hawkins on January 6, 1962.  She will miss him dearly.

     Frank will also be missed by his children, John “Jack” (Dana) Land of Danville and Melissa “Missy” (Erik) Hill of Catlin; his grandchildren, John Michael Land, Jordan (Tessa) Barney, & Sara Howell; and his great grandchildren, Carter Land and Tristan Nolen.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Raymond Land and Norman Land; and his sister, Mary Hart.

     Frank worked at General Motors Tilton Foundry for several years as an Electrician and then retired to enjoy life with his family.  He and Jackie shared 58 wonderful years together and never missed the opportunity to spend time with their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  He enjoyed going fishing and hunting and was a member of the Ouabache Valley Frontiersman.  He was also a lifetime member of the NRA.  Frank loved to do woodwork and had a beautiful talent which he shared with everyone.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date.  As were his wishes, he will be cremated.  The family has entrusted his care to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E.
