Chris Lee Hines

Danville – Chris Lee Hines, 63, of Danville passed away at 1:41 PM on August 16, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Chris was born on May 16, 1958 the son of Richard and Beverly (Badewitz) Hines in Danville, IL. He married Deanna Sue Cawthon in Danville, IL on June 16, 2018 and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Hines of Danville, IL, two children, Riley (Kaylan) Hines of Rossville, IL and Shelby (Jake) Horton of Alvin, IL, two stepchildren, Bailee (Jimmy) Wright of Fithian, IL and Preslee (Lance) Evans of Westville, IL, six grandchildren, Jameson, Landry, Merritt, Taylor, Eleece and Kenlee, as well as one sister, Paula (Steve) Wear of Covington, IN, one niece, Kaylee Wear of Danville, IL and one uncle, Harold Hines of Armstrong, IL.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents.

Chris is a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville where he loved being part of the Praise Team.  He was also a member of the Danville Barbershop Chorus for many years. Singing the National Anthem at the Cubs/Cards game was his favorite performance! He was a Buyer at Hyster-Yale in Danville. He enjoyed spending his free time traveling cross-country in his 1995 Jeep. He loved to sing and play his guitars. He spent countless hours watching old westerns. Chris was a Mopar enthusiast, especially Jeeps, and was fond of good leather boots.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Greg Taylor will officiate.  Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Chris’ memory to the Danville Barbershop Chorus.
