Charles Dean Young

     Charles Dean Young, 81, of Westville passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, peacefully at his home after a 12-year battle with cancer. He was born on September 12, 1940, in Danville, IL, the son of Charles and Candace (Sperry) Young. 
     He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Deena (Tom) Tewksbury of Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Tewksbury, Evan Tewksbury and Ashlyn Tewksbury; sisters, Candy (Bob) Turello of Foley, AL; Charla Canale of Alton, IL; niece Brenda Vinson of Danville; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and friend, Ronnie Young. 
     Dean was a graduate of Danville High School in 1958.  He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force overseas in Japan. He held many positions at Tee Pak where he retired after 30+ years of service. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Illinois Basketball and Gunsmoke. He loved reading books from the Westville Library, watching his pet squirrels that frequented his front porch and playing golf at Blue Needles Golf Course. Dean cherished all the time he spent with his grandchildren and family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
     A celebration of Deans life will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, IL, 414 S. State St. Westville, IL 61883. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Dean will be cremated following his service.
