Carolyn ‘Kay’ Sue Boggess, 81, of Georgetown, passed away at 1:32am, Thursday, November 18, 2021, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. She was born on November 26, 1939, in Danville, the daughter of Ralph Ernest and Naomi Pearl {Pichion} Miller. She was united in marriage to Gary Boggess, and he survives.
She is also survived by her daughter, Leanna (James) Alexander of Dallas, TX; her grandson, Elijah; and her sister, Coni Marble; as well as Gary’s children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Shirley Denhart and Joy Haglund.
Kay was known to many as very artistic and enjoyed gardening, sun-tanning, and spending time outdoors with her family and pets, especially her Yorkies. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and worked for many years as a hairdresser and bookkeeper. She also volunteered at the hospital. Kay will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 11:00am Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Georgetown.
