Caroline Poeschl Obituary

Danville – Caroline Mae Poeschl, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville, IL.  She was born on September 9, 1942 to Philip and Mabel (Sanders) Huttsell in Danville, IL.

Caroline is survived by her children Debbie Witherspoon and Kim (Jack) Corbin; she was affectionately known as Nan to her grandchildren Michael Philip, Michael Donald, Brooke, Shelby, and  Robyn; she was affectionately known as GiGi to her great-grandchildren Archer, Sebastian, and Isabelle; siblings Shirley (Sam) Lilly and Connie (Arnold) Sumila; several nieces and one nephew; and close friend Cheryl Baird and family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son Robin Michael Poeschl; sister Sharon Kae Harris; son-in-law Michael David Witherspoon; and several close friends.

Caroline enjoyed word searches, playing bingo, talking on the phone, and watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. 

“Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you all.  If you can only remember me with tears, then don’t remember me at all.”

Graveside committal will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Springhill Cemetery.  Raymie Gordon will officiate.  Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834.  Memorial donations may be made in Caroline’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Humane Society of the donor’s choosing.  Please join her family in sharing memories on her tribute wall at sunsetfuneralhome.com.
