Carol James

Oakwood - Carol James, 77, of Oakwood passed away on October 4, 2021 at her home in Oakwood.

Carol was born on March 22, 1944 the daughter of Merrill and Nina (Carlson) Nicholes in Austin, TX. She married Glen James on August 20, 1975 in Belton, TX and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2005.

Survivors include her children Kenneth McDowell of Juneau, AK, Robert McDowell of Lexington, KY, Teresa (Brian) Fuller of Toccoa, Georgia, Jeff James of Oakwood, Illinois, Tammy (Brandon) Boyd of Cisco, Illinois.  Grandchildren are as follows Nathan, Josh, Annisa McDowell, Rachel McDowell. Alex (Nikki), Alan (Savannah), Kataryna, and Madisyn Fuller. Ava James, Olivia Enos. Mason, Matt, Jackie Boyd. Siblings, Jimmy (Theresa) Nicholes, Rickie (Gloria) Nicholes, Brenda (Nick)Callaway, Larry Nicholes and Vernie Nicholes. 5 beautiful great-grandchildren.  

Preceded in death by her husband of 30+ years Glen, a son Jimbo McDowell and a daughter Annette McDowell. One brother Eddie Nicholes. 

Carol was retired form Plastipak Packaging in Champaign, IL. She enjoyed spending her free time with her children and grandchildren, She also looked forward to watching Sunday night Hallmark Movies with her daughter Teresa texting back and forth about the characters. working on ceramics, and shopping.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, October 11, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois. James Blue will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the funeral home.

It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the visitation or services wear a mask and practice social distancing.
