Brian Sollars

Brian Keith Sollars, 64 of Westville IL passed from this life at Ridgeview Health and Rehab Center in Oblong, IL on November 16, 2023 at 5:55 PM.

Brian was born August 6, 1959 in Danville IL the son of Harold “Bud” Sollars and Margaret “Bunny” Levis. They preceded him in death along with his sister Tina.

Brian married Theresa L. Kochvar on February 19, 1977, at the young age of 17, in Danville, IL. Out of that love came two sons, Brian K. Sollars II of Westville, IL and Troy A. Sollars of Danville, IL. Brian had a blended family with a stepmother, Joyce Sollars and a stepfather, Earl Magdic as well as his sisters and brothers, Lisa, Michael, Mathew, Tammy, Tim and Angie and his grandchildren, Tristen, Michelle and Brian III and several nieces and nephews.

Brian graduated from Westville High School in 1978. After high school he went to work for his father at Sollars TV, later at Curtis Mathes TV, and ultimately at Buds Electronics as a traveling delivery/salesman where he drove all over Illinois and Indiana. While traveling he had to tune in and listen to Paul Harvey every day, “And now you know the Rest of the Story.”

Brian loved spending time with his family and friends, tinkering in his basement fixing TVs and VCRs, bowling, gardening, fishing, camping, and hunting. Brian also enjoyed coaching his sons’ in baseball.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Ramona Logan will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the funeral home.
