Betty Louise McGaha

Betty Louise McGaha, 92, of Covington passed away on November 6, 2019. She was born in Transylvania County, North Carolina on September 22, 1927 the daughter of Charlie and Arlene Roller. On April 3, 1946 Betty married the love of her life James Clannie McGaha and they spent 47 wonderful years together before his passing.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (Jim) Ritenour; son, James C. (Vickie) McGaha Jr.; grandchildren, James C. McGaha III, John (Jenny) Ritenour, Rebecca (Brad) Miller; great-grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Kaitlyn Miller and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clannie, and sister, Nancy Suttles.

Betty was a member and active at Salem United Methodist Church in Covington. She enjoyed planting and growing flowers, needlework and was an excellent seamstress. Family was the most important thing in Betty’s life, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty was a kind and loving woman who would do anything for her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am EST on Monday November 11, 2019 at Sunset Funeral  Home and Cremation Center in Covington, IN 420 3rd Street Covington, Indiana 47932. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Dewlen. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm EST on Sunday November 10, 2019 at Sunset’s Covington Chapel.

Memorial donations may be placed in Betty’s name to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
