Ben Harris

Ben Harris, 82, of Indianola, Illinois, passed away at his home on April 22, 2024, with family by his side. Ben was born at home in Georgetown, Illinois on October 9, 1941, the son of Earl and Naomi (Grovier) Harris. Ben married the love of his life Mary High on July 6, 1963, in Westville, Illinois at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Mary survives.

 Also surviving Ben are his children; Sherri (Kurt) Cruppenink, Tammy (David) Roseman, Michelle (Robert) Dill, Mary (Kevin) Thomas, and Greg(Nicia) Harris, his grandchildren; Tristan (Allison) Lauderdale, Brock (Brittany) Barrett, Chaise (Taylor) Barrett, Sarah (Tanner) Mosier, Blaise (Kara) Mosier, Logan (Patricia) Sanders, Hannah (Travis) Sanders, Trishia Thomas, Madison, Camden and Easton Harris, Joseph and Kamden Buyno, great grandchildren; Brayden, Braxton, Brynlee, Beau, Emberlynn, Presley, Sawyer, Stone, Ryker, Kennedy, Noah, Brentlee, Rylee, his siblings; Blanche Springer, Dorothy Newcomb, Barbara Stevens, Rita Gibson, Anita Lutz and Robert Harris.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Ronald and Gearld, one sister, Louise Snyder and a granddaughter Miranda Mosier.

Ben worked at General Motors where he was a forklift operator. He was active on the Carroll Township Fire Department and a member of the Lions Club. Ben enjoyed camping and hunting. Most of all it was the time spent with his family he loved.

A visitation will be held at noon-1pm on Thursday April 25, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 East West Street. The service will take place at 1pm with Ben’s brother Robert officiating. Burial to follow in Michael’s Cemetery in Indianola, Illinois.   Memorials may be made in Ben’s name to the Alzheimer’s association.
