Danville— Arthur Maxwell “Max” Carson, Jr., 87, of Danville formerly of Beaumont, TX passed away at Norridge Gardens on November 19, 2020 in Norridge, IL.

Max was born on July 7, 1933 the son of Arthur M and Martha Adelaide (Murray) Carson in Danville, IL.

Max is survived by his sister Ellen (Barry) Anders of Danville, IL, nephews, Bret (Angie) Anders of Rogers, AR and Bart Anders of Danville, IL, cousins William (Sharon) Black of Danville, IL and Robert and (Jackie) Black of Danville, IL as well as two grandnieces and one grandnephew.

Max is preceded in death by his parents.

Max was a college instructor in Electrical Engineering at various colleges in the United States. He graduated from the GM Institute of Technology and received his master’s degree from the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering followed by his PhD from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Max enjoyed spending his freetime golfing and bowling and was a long-standing member of Rotary International with the majority of his years with Spindle Top Rotary in Beaumont, TX.

A private, family-only committal will be held in Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements. As per Max’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spindle Top Rotary Club in Beaumont, TX.
