Amy Suzanne Porritt

Amy Suzanne Porritt, 54, passed away on November 24, 2021, while surrounded by her family. Amy was born on February 23, 1967 in Peoria but was a lifelong resident of Danville and a graduate of Schlarman High School. A resident of Valley View Apartments, Amy loved Illinois basketball, The Price is Right and watching golf on Sunday. She was never without her favorite chihuahua, Miss Molly.

Amy is survived by her parents, Tom and Sue Porritt, and her siblings Beth Schendel (Steve), Tom (Colleen) and Ben (Heidi) as well as nine nieces and nephews from Chicago and Florida. She leaves her closest friend John Vest. Amy fought a long history of epilepsy and was known by her family as the “toughest person on earth”. Today, she is “seizure free” and will be forever missed. 1 Corinthians 15:42.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 10AM to 11AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 1303 N Walnut St, Danville, IL 61832 with a Funeral Mass immediately following. After the Funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, a private gathering will be held at a family site near Galesburg, Il. The family has entrusted Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with the funeral arrangements.
