Allen Leslie Bishop Sr

Allen Leslie Bishop Sr. 85, of rural Danville passed away at his home with family by his side on Saturday November 11, 2023. Allen was born the son of Joseph and Goldie (Henry) Bishop on June 29, 1938, at home in rural Westville. Allen married the love of his life Janet Johnson on April 30, 1960. She survives and will miss him deeply.

Also surviving Allen are his son’s; Allen Jr (Jeannie) Bishop and Kevin (Julie) Bishop, his grandchildren; Valerie, Jessica, Rebecca, Paul, and Tyler and six great grandchildren.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother and his twin baby brother who passed at birth.

Allen worked as a Journeymen Printer at Interstate Printing where he retired after a long career. He loved being at home on his rural property. He enjoyed collecting antique equipment from farming and loved to have livestock around to keep him busy. He loved to be out in the garden or going to farm auction where he may find a great deal. Most of all Allen loved his family and spending time with them.

A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday November 15, 2023, at Sunset Funeral and Cremation Center in Westville 414 S State street Westville, Illinois. With Pastor James Blue officiating. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery.
