Obey Ray Farmer, 81, of Danville passed away at 9:25pm Sunday November 27, 2005 at Provena United Samaritan Medical Center. He was born August 20, 1924 in Cleaten, Kentucky, the son of the late George and Cordle Strader Farmer. Obey married Delna Beadnell on February 8, 1947 in Greenville, Kentucky. Survivors includes his wife, three sons; George Ray (Jacqueline) Farmer of Fayetteville, North Carolina, David Farmer of Carlinville, Illinois, and Obie Allen (Kelley) Farmer of New Baden , Illinois, two daughters; Glenda Farmer Kaplan M.D. of Danville and Felicia (Mike) Coulter of Springfield, Illinois, nine grandchildren, one brother; Keith (Mabel) Farmer of Auburn, Kentucky, and one sister; Yvonne Glassen of Clarksville, Tennessee He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, and one son-in-law; Enrique Camps M.D. Obey served as a correctional officer with the Federal Prison System in Terre Haute, Indiana and Marion, Illinois. He later owned and operated his own trucking business. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Obey was a member of Church of Christ. He enjoyed working with wood, painting, good music, and solving logic puzzles.
