Covington, IN- O. Fauneil McLean, 82, of Covington, IN passed away at 11:20 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, IN. She was born on August 31, 1929 in Veedersburg to Gordon and Millie Robbins Smith. She married Chester Waldren McLean on May 18, 1947. He preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Stephen (Linda) McLean of Lafayette, IN; four sisters, Betty Labaw, Marietta Pyle, Virginia (C.A.) Miller, Denise (Robert) Jackson; brother-in-law Karle Hoefle; two granddaughters, Michelle McLean and Cara (Rob) McLean-Rolfes; two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Reese McLean-Rolfes; and special friends Brian and Polly Chumley and Toad and Graham Chumley. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Kathy Hoefle. Fauneil worked at The Waters in Covington in the Activities Department where she had previously volunteered. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and had attended Sterling Christian Church in Veedersburg. She liked to travel, enjoyed Indiana University sports, and going to soccer, baseball, and basketball games. A service to celebrate the life of O. Fauneil McLean will be held at 3 PM EDT on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Pastor Aaron Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at Osborn Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM EDT prior to the service, also at Sunset's Covington Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
