Norman J. Clendenen, 84, of Oakwood, passed away at 8:11pm, Friday, February 5, 2016, at North Logan Health Care, Danville. He was born on July 9, 1931, in Danville, the son of James B. and Edythe {Simpkins} Clendenen. He married Joanne Lockhart in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 2003. He was united in marriage to Suzanne F. Bailey on February 19, 2004, in Las Vegas, NV. She will miss him dearly. Norman was a proud Veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was an Associate Professor in the UCLA Trade Tech in Los Angeles, CA. Norman also taught at College of Eastern Utah and in later years, at Danville Area Community College, as well as VOTEC. Norman enjoyed auto mechanics, and owned and operated Nor-Bry Automotive in Oakwood for many years. He also enjoyed Native American history and doing Native American leather work. Above all, he enjoyed being with his family. Norman is survived by: his wife Suzanne, his son, Bryan (Melissa) Clendenen; his daughters, Lisa (John) Behrens and Kay Jacobs (Steve McDevitt); and his grandchildren, Rayse & Brady Clendenen, Brooklynn Behrens, Hannah Jacobs, Gillian Card, & Jaden McDevitt; his sister, Phyllis Parks of Danville; and his beloved dog, Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Clendenen. The family would like to thank the staff at North Logan Healthcare & Transitions Hospice for taking such good care of their loved one. A Memorial Visitation to celebrate Norman's life will be held 1pm-3pm, Saturday, February 13, 2016, at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel.
