Cayuga, Ind. - Norman G. Conrad, 81, of Cayuga, passed away at 4:49 p.m. CDT Monday, May 18, 2020 at OSF HealthCare in Danville, Illinois.

He was born on November 2, 1938 in Cayuga, Indiana the son of the late Elmer A. and Verdie (Taylor) Conrad.

Norman married Connie J. Morgan on November 20, 1971 in Cayuga, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his children: Rita Kay Conrad and Anita Jo Conrad both of Georgetown, Illinois; James (Donna) Conrad of Newport, Indiana; Ellen (Dale) Scudder of Rantoul, Illinois; Jami (David) Garver of Lansing, Michigan and Jeanna (Terry) Sowers of Eugene, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister: Lula Mae Timberlake of Lafayette, Indiana; one brother: David Conrad of Clinton, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.

Norman was preceded in death by his daughter: Marilyn Jane Conrad; four sisters and one brother.

Norman retired from the VA Illiana Health Care in Danville, Illinois in 1999. He served his country proudly first with the United States Marine Corps (2 years) then with the United States Army (18 years). He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Norman was a member of the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana, the Cayuga American Legion Post 263 (Past commander and current Adjutant) and Cayuga Lions Club. He enjoyed working bingo at the Legion, reading his bible, woodworking and spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

Funeral services (Family): 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Waterman Baptist Church in Lodi, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor John Goldfuss; Burial with Honors: Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana; Visitation (Open to Public): Saturday, May 23, 2020 from Noon to 2 p.m. EDT. The church will live stream the service on the Waterman Baptist Church Facebook page. Current social guidance for places of worship will be followed. Masks are not required. Contributions may be made to the Waterman Baptist Church, 8540 West State Road 234, Kingman, Indiana 47952. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
