Norman Carlson long time resident of Illinois has returned home after passing peacefully in his sleep on January 9th, 2018. He joins his wife of 62 years, Carol Virginia Carlson who passed before him. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Peter) Alagna, of Bowling Green, KY and his son Michael (Bonnie) Carlson, of Pendleton, IN. Along with 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Carlson retired from the Post Office and Brookhill Golf Course. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, IL. His hobbies included golf, bowling and gardening. He was a longtime member of American Legion #24 in Urbana, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Brookhill Golf Course, Rantoul, IL. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 710 N Neil Street, Champaign, Il. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 12 noon. Visitation will be held prior from 10-12pm. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Champaign, IL.
