Norma Maxine Ellis

Ridge Farm, Ill. -- Norma Maxine Ellis, 78, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 12:29 a.m. CST Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. She was born September 22, 1932 in Ridge Farm, Illinois, the daughter of the late Warner and Ellen Mullins Tuel. She married Donald Ward "Speedy" Ellis on October 14, 1950 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2001. Survivors include her children, Donald Junior(Karris)Ellis and Sandra Joan Jordan both of Ridge Farm, Illinois; Russell Warner(Kathy)Ellis of Newport, Indiana and Tony Ray(Lori)Ellis of Georgetown, Illinois; ten grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with one on the way; three sisters, Esther Luther of Hegeler, Illinois; Joyce Ann(Kenny)Pryor of Shelbyville, Illinois and Velesa(Harold)Ellis of Cayuga, Indiana; brother, Robert(Marilyn)Tuel of Danville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her son, David Wayne Ellis; granddaughter, Diana and sister, Stella Tuel. Norma sold Avon in the Georgetown/Ridge Farm, Illinois area for many years. She formerly worked at General Electric in Danville, Illinois and General Motors in Tilton, Illinois. She was a member of the Red Hat Club in Georgetown/Ridge Farm. Norma enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Thursday, January 6, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. EST Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
