Norma Jean Hurst

Norma J. Hurst, age 85, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 4:57 AM at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Norma was born March 23, 1930 in Georgetown, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Yocum) Felgenhauer. She married Herman Hurst on August 4, 1951 in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1998. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Sonia) Hurst of Fredericksburg, VA, Tim “Hollywood” Hurst and Gary Hurst both of Georgetown; daughter, Lynn (Carroll) Parker of Westville; grandchildren, Valerie, Wayne, Mark, Brian, Kristie, Kathy, Sandy, Jimmy, Neil, Pamela, Jordan, and Kayla; 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty (Dave) Beason of Cayuga, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Herman, son, Dennis Hurst, granddaughter, Elizabeth Parker, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers. Norma worked at Chuckles in Danville for several years. She was a member of Harrison Park Church of God. Norma enjoyed playing BINGO, rummaging, puzzles, and playing cards. But most of all, she loved being with her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Brother Karl Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow at Elwood Cemetery east of Georgetown. Visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5-8 PM.
