Norma Jean (Hill) Hible, 90, of Mahomet, Illinois, previously of Danville, Illinois, passed away on the morning of October 18, 2024, at Bridle Brook Assisted Living in Mahomet. Born on October 23, 1933, in Oakwood, Illinois, she was the daughter of Martin Dean and Naomi Fern Hill. On August 2, 1958, Norma married Robert (Bob) Hible, and together they celebrated 66 wonderful years together.
Norma is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; her daughters, Kelly (Tony) Credit and Sandy (Daren) Prather; her grandsons, Jacob Prather, Lucas (Maggy) Prather, and Ethan Credit; her sisters, Marilyn Teeters and Wilma (Bill) Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson, Matthew Daren Prather.
Norma cherished her family above all else, creating lasting memories with her grandsons that they will hold dear. She enjoyed reading, sewing, decorating her home, and hunting for treasures at garage and estate sales alongside Bob and her grandsons. In recent years, as her eyesight diminished, she embraced the world of audiobooks. Her family will forever treasure the wisdom and encouragement she offered, along with her incredible strength and unwavering faith. Norma had a profound relationship with God, seeking His guidance through all of life’s mountains and valleys.
Before Bob’s retirement, Norma served as the bookkeeper for his architectural firm, forming an exceptional team. She was also a founding and 50-year member of PEO Chapter LT in Danville.
The family invites friends and family to an open house to celebrate and remember Norma’s life on November 3 from 2-4 pm at Bridle Brook Assisted Living Facility, located at 1505 Patton Drive, Mahomet, Illinois. Additionally, a small, intimate service will take place in the chapel at the Springhill Mausoleum in Danville on November 4 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Muncie Baptist Church in Muncie, Illinois.
Please join the family in sharing memories and photos on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
