Norma Jean Freeman

Veedersburg, IN- Norma Jean Freeman, 75, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away at 8:18 AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Crawfordsville. She was born on July 2, 1938 in Veedersburg to Charles and Mildred Krout Booe. She first married Joe McClellan with whom she had three children. She later married Charles G. Freeman on May 20, 1971 in Danville, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her three children, Nancy McClellan of Lafayette, IN, Chris (Bill Weiand) Polston of Oxford, IN, and Mark (Sue) McClellan of Danville, IL; two brothers, Tom (Judy) Booe and Rick (Cathy) Booe; a brother-in-law, Vick Spear; four grandchildren, Tamra, Justin, Cassie, and Kyle; a great-granddaughter Lilah; and five step-children, Rita (Bill) Pearson, Daniel Freeman, Judith (Tommy) McIntyre, Rachel Goble, and Rebecca (Donald) Gillis. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sandy Spear, and a nephew, Brian Spear. Norma Jean earned her cosmetology license at the Pivot Point Cosmetology School. She went on to open her own salon, Norma Jeans Beauty Salon, in Danville, IL, Evansville, IN, Fairbanks, AK, and then in Veedersburg, IN. Aside from styling hair, she enjoyed bowling and had attended the Community Bible Baptist Church in Veedersburg. A service to celebrate the life of Norma Jean Freeman will be held at 10 AM EST on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Sunsets Covington Chapel, A Life Celebration Home in Covington, IN. Pastor James C. Furr will officiate. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM EST on Sunday, December 1, also at Sunsets Covington Chapel.
