Norma J. Golden Steinbaugh White, 83, of Bismarck, IL passed away on September 5, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born on November 11, 1930 in Danville, IL, the daughter of John Henry and Irene (Jones) Golden. She married Harlan D. Steinbaugh on July 18, 1948 in Danville, IL. Harlan preceded Norma in death on December 16, 1970. Norma married James W. White on April 2, 1985 in Danville, IL. He survives. Norma will be deeply missed by her children, Jim (Wynne) Steinbaugh, Julie (Scott) Boersma, Matt (Shirley), Mark (Teresa), and Tim (Amy) all of Bismarck and daughter-in-law Cathy Steinbaugh of Danville. Also surviving are two brothers, John J. (Jackie) Golden of Danville, and Dan (Ann) Golden of Kearney, Missouri; her grandchildren Andy Steinbaugh, Joanna (Brad) Howard, Jenny (Rick) Huffman, Michael (Jen) Steinbaugh, Katie (Juan) Chavez, Kevin (Emily) Boersma, Rachel (Jacob) Campbell, Laura, Kimberly, Tyler, Max, and Sarah Steinbaugh and Ross Boersma and great-grandchildren Lucy and Rudd Howard, Riker Huffman, Darin and Dylan Farr, Ava, Salma, and Bella Chavez, and Mason Boersma; a special cousin Robert E. Jones of Danville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert, Hubert, and Harry Golden, a sister, Beverly Hall, and her oldest son Jeff. Norma attended Liberty Grade School and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1948. After the death of her husband Harlan, she attended DACC for several years and then worked as a statistician at Hyster/Nacco in Danville from 1975-1987. Norma was a member of Bismarck United Methodist Church where she taught a young adult Sunday School class for many years, Bismarck United Methodist Women, and Vermilion County Home Extension. She and her husband James were also member of the Salty Good Sams Club. Norma enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren and playing Bunco with her friends, and reading. Faith, family, and friends were important to her. A celebration of Normas life will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Carl Mesiti officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Normas name to the Bismarck United Methodist Church.
