Norma J Powell

Norma J. Powell, 80, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 7:30am, Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman. She was born on May 12, 1933, in Danville, IL, the daughter of James and Genevive {Whitamore} Richards, both deceased. She was wed to James Fred Powell on August 31, 1968, until his passing on January 30, 1999. Norma worked at G.E. in Danville and also at the Town & Country Tap in Ridge Farm. She was known as an avid Bears & Cubs fan. She enjoyed going bowling, fishing, camping, & also enjoyed cooking. She is survived by: her sons, Ralph (Bonnie) Williams of Ridge Farm & Daniel Williams of Troutman, NC; her daughter, Carol Wayne of Albuquerque, NM; her step-sons, Mike (Jean) Powell of Olivet & J.D. (Johann) Powell of Westville; her five grandchildren; her two great grandchildren; her brother, Charles (Maybelle) Richards of Danville; her sisters, Daisy Crowel of Arizona & Nellie Tintorri of Georgetown; her many nieces & nephews; and her special friends, Verna (Kenny) Sly of Ridge Farm. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00pm (Noon), Saturday, January 4, 2013, at Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Memorial donations may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society.
