Norma I. Warrick

Covington, IN - Norma I. Warrick, 87, of Covington passed away at 10:39 PM at IU Arnette Health in Lafayette. She was born on April 29, 1927 in Cates, IN to Everly and Hattie Estella (Allen) Orahood. She married Virgil L. “Bud” Warrick on April 29, 1946 in Stone Bluff. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Jack) High of Union, MS and Nancy (Bryan) Houmes of Veedersburg, IN; three siblings, Geneva Lewsader, Herschel (Doris) Orahood, and Arlene McMasters; 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Galloway; three brothers and a sister; and a great-grandson. Norma had worked as a secretary at the Clerks Office and the Prosecutors Office in the Fountain County Court House, and later at the Wallace Law Firm. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, travelling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Norma was also a member at Maranatha Baptist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Norma Warrick will be held at 11 AM EST on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington. Brother Jack High will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM EST on Thursday, January 29, also at Maranatha Baptist Church. Sunsets Covington Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
