Norma O. Hauk, 77, of Covington, IN went to join her beloved husband of 55 years on Friday, July 27, 2007 and be with our Lord and Savior. Norma was born August 9, 1929 to Harry and Bonnie Oakes in Terre Haute, Indiana and later moved to Danville, Illinois. She married Robert Herschel Hauk, son of Gladys and Herschel Hauk of Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2006. She is survived by three sons: Jeff (Diane) Hauk of Anderson, IN, Kevin (Donna) Hauk of Cape Coral, FL, Brett (Wanda) Hauk of Covington, IN, and one daughter: Cassandra (Mike) Palmer of Fort Myers, FL. She has 10 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Aunt Mary Louise Hack of Danville, IL; one niece Harriet Gildersleeve of Danville, IL; one nephew John (Barbara) Dreher of Danville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Fay Dreher and brother Ralph Oakes. A member of the First Baptist Church in Covington, IN and after moving to Fort Myers, FL she transferred her membership to the Cypress Lake Baptist Church of Fort Myers. She was involved with the Boosters Club at Covington High School, knitting, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. A Celebration of Normas Life will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
