Norma Duncan

Norma Jean (Kight) Duncan, 77, of Covington, IN passed this life on Friday, May 24th surrounded by her family.

Norma was born on July 29th, 1941 in Williamsport to Orval and Illeta (Preble) Kight. Her husband, John William Duncan, whom she married on December 9th, 1965 survives.

Surviving her are her three loving sons; Timothy Wayne, Mark Alan (Missy), and Brett Matthew (Lori), her four grandchildren that she adored very much; Layne (Quentin Varner), Katelyn Duncan, Bailey Duncan, and Mountain Duncan. Also surviving are her sister, Beverly Blake and sister-in-law, Barb Kight, several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her two brothers, Don and Darrell Kight.

Throughout Normas well-lived and joyful life, she was a member of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Tri-Kappa for 42 years where she was elected president twice. Since she graduated at the top of her class at Covington High School in 1959, she has continued close friendships with her classmates and planning reunions. She was a previous employee for REMC, Olins, and Bohn before staying at home to raise her three children. She also cleaned homes and was a caterer for over 20 years, and taught line dancing.

Norma was known to be one of the sweetest women you would ever meet. She had a kind way with words and always had a smile on her face. She adored her family with her whole heart, especially her grandchildren. Her family will miss her terribly, especially her cooking.

A celebration of Normas life will be held at 10:00AM EST on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center Covington Chapel 420 3rd St. Covington, IN 47932 with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-7PM EST Wednesday, May 29 with a Tri-Kappa memorial service starting at 7:30PM.
