Norma D Scott

Norma D. Scott 84, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday October 20, 2012 at Capitol Care Nursing Home in Springfield. She was born March 20, 1928 in Georgetown the daughter of Charles E. and Ruth Biggs Sheppard. Norma was united in marriage to John W. Scott Jr. on October 5, 1946 in Georgetown; he will miss her dearly. Also surviving are: her daughter, Jennifer (Clarence Worley) Langley of Dawson, Il; her granddaughter, Andrea (Dane) Shaffer of Springfield; two great grandchildren, Austin & Lillian Shaffer of Springfield. Norma was preceded by: her parents; one brother, Charles; and five sisters, Ruth Harper, Sarah Sanders, Dorothy Pritchard, Betty Sheppard and Alena Penninger. Norma was a home maker and a graduate of Georgetown High class of 1946. She was a member of the first Church of Christ in Georgetown where she was very involved with the church and would volunteer countless hours. Norma was a generous loving Christian, but most of all the joy of her life was her family. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Steve Rutter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. She will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to First Church of Christ, Georgetown.
